For Isa

I met her on my Day 1 at work
We shared a lunch and a brunch
and some other creamy stuff.
She asked me- “what does it mean
that long word, your full name?”

I said it means something beautiful
just like the smile on your face- bountiful
and though I’m tall but you’re not,
I’m slim and you’re hot.
What a fit that we’ve got!

Then came this Papis’ outing
Wouldn’t go, withdrawn as often.
but for persuasion that my mind did soften.
Who comes up to me first, oh, Miss Ashley
She said “hello, can I get the first dance with you”

Everyone in the room wanted to dance
with the only foreigner who’s got a prance
it doesn’t help, does it- that he’s really shy;
and though I’m tall but you’re not,
I’m slim and you’re hot.
What a fit that we’ve got!

Reluctant, I took the dance,
moved my body with Ashley
All these while my mind was on
getting you on the main alley
My body says no but mind says go, this will be fun!

I came and asked- a dance, or just a trot
We took some time to get in
the zone where not dancing is not a thought.
and though I’m tall but you’re not,
I’m slim and you’re hot.
What a fit that we’ve got!

I said “you’re beautiful…
I never got a chance to tell you,
cause your beauty should scare you,
at least at me, that’s what it do-
Making a man dark as me go blue!

We moved like our bodies
were formed for each other.
Both trying not to look like zombies,
We tango until we synced like son and mother.
I listened to every inch of your torso
and then responded like non of your hubbies.

And even though it didn’t end
as many, they would expect
I guess it’s time we say our goodbyes
and even though here right now,
I see a bit of you in everything feminine,
was just a bit of a fit, what we got!

I’m tall but you’re not,
I’m slim and you’re hot.
What a fit that we’ve got!
